Priority worldwide becomes a participant signatory of un global compact

Priority Worldwide USA offices have joined the UN Global Compact and the company is now a participant signatory of the UN’s global corporate social responsibility charter.

Our company has long made corporate responsibility, sustainability and environmental impact key pillars of our internal quality policy and goals. As the company continues to grow and increasingly serve wider partners in the government and humanitarian sector, we see the UN Global Compact as an important signpost to how we will continue to improve and align our objectives & processes.

The UN Global Compact membership brings together companies and organizations around the world who are committed to implementing the UN’s key social responsibility pillars and to make business impact more sustainable.  Whilst environmental responsibilities quite rightly grab media attention, there are also important safeguarding and development responsibilities that the UN charter describes.

As a member of UN Global Compact, our company has to agree to annual reporting of our progress in view of these development pillars. It is not without responsibility that we wanted to become a participant. The commitment is enshrined by a signed letter from our CEO to the UN secretary general in NY, and our CEO joins thousands of other CEOs in the implementation and monitoring of progress against the key UN pillars.

Lauren Priddy from PWS commented

“It is an honor to be welcomed in as a member of the UN Global Compact.  As a freight forwarder, we know that we are part of an industry that produces a huge carbon footprint.  We have always done our part to reduce our impact in any way that we can, but this collective alignment will push us further than we have gone in the past.  Sustainability is a shared mindset, which is the only way we protect the planet, its people, and our future business. “
