Hurricane Beryl was an intense Category 5 hurricane, the earliest Cat-5 hurricane ever recorded in the Caribbean region. It caused widespread devastation across islands in the SE Caribbean including Grenada, Barbados, St Vincent & Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica.
Our Emergency Response team closely followed the storm and the impacts on logistics infrastructure in the islands. Shelter and medical teams were imperative and there was widespread damage to airports/ports in Grenada & St Vincent along with the smaller islands. Airports & ports were inaccessible for several days in some areas. Our team provided frequent SITREP and blog reports to NGO partners to help them with formatting their plans for delivering aid to the islands.
