COVID-19 Response in Canada

Priority Worldwide is not only assisting in international emergency response. The COVID-19 pandemic is also focusing our attentions closer to home.

Priority Worldwide in Canada was recently requested by to assist with the urgent ramp-up of a homeless shelter in downtown Montreal.

As Montreal homeless filled up the former Royal Victoria hospital during these colder winter months, Covid-19 of course begun to run rampant through sections of the hospital. This necessitated a solution to assist Montreal’s homeless, who had previously tested positive,  to be able to have a safe indoor private bedroom space to self-isolate until they would receive a negative result.

The City of Montreal and the Department of Health and Social Services on Monday requisitioned the Montreal Soccer Stadium on Papineau Avenue for the emergency shelter, with a capacity of 150 persons.

Priority Worldwide’s Canadian HQ in Montreal briefly received, warehoused, and expedited by truck, a dozen 20×30 foot tents, as well as handling distribution services for 10,000 isolation gowns and other PPE supplies directly to the stadium. The company has also been managing distribution services in various other cities in Canada, including Winnipeg and Toronto.

Priority Worldwide operates our own 14,000 square feet warehousing out of its premises in Saint Laurent, Montreal.
